Moss walls are a maintenance-free way to bring the outdoors in. The vibrant greens and rich textures of real moss create a one-of-a-kind piece of art and breathe life into your home, office, or commercial space.
Our original moss designs are created with preserved moss or lichen. Preserved plants and flowers can also add color, texture, and energy.
Each piece is custom made and creates an artistic connection to nature. The average American spends 90% of their time indoors (EPA). That means missing out on fresh air, access to natural materials, and the mental and physical health benefits from time spent outdoors, so we decided to bring the outdoors to you.
Moss walls are part of the biophilic design concept which has been shown to improve mood and productivity. Adding greenery to your space can create a feeling of calm and promote happiness, while also simply making the atmosphere feel more pleasant.
Preserved moss is natural moss that we like to say is, "frozen-in-time." The moss is no longer alive, but has been conserved using a method that replaces the product’s moisture with oils to make it softer, cleaner, and longer-lasting.
It maintains the look and feel of moss—including the intricate details, textures, and vibrant colors of live plants. Once preserved, our moss walls maintain their quality. They don’t grow, but they remain a piece of art to enjoy long-term!
Naturspire selects from a variety of moss forms to achieve your desired look. With a rich selection of colors, textures, and thickness, the possibilities are endless and result in unique art. Below are the types of moss we offer:
Naturspire's goal is to create a design that perfectly fits your space. Whether you’re looking for an entire wall of preserved moss, a branded moss piece, or a totally unique design, our green team will bring your vision to life.
We offer size options ranging from small pieces that add a touch of green to your space, to artwork that encompasses your entire wall. Your design can incorporate a wide variety of shapes, including your company logo. We will also work with you to ensure that the frame (if your piece includes one) will perfectly fit with the rest of your decor.
To begin the design process, our team will take the time to learn about your vision and evaluate your environment. Our goal is to choose a design that will perfectly fit your space.
Next, our installation team will assess your space in person to ensure your moss art will hang securely. We’ll ensure the sizing is correct and ideal for your needs and evaluate the impact your art will have when it’s complete.
Finally, your vision comes to life! In this phase we collaborate with you to select colors, style and size of containers, and create a moss design that truly fits your space.
You can display your moss art in a wide variety of ways! When it comes to our designs, the sky's the limit. Moss designs are an artful way to bring nature into your home—with biophilic design remaining in style and the widespread love of houseplants, a preserved moss design is a great way to bring a touch of green into your living space without extra hassle.
Yes! Caring for preserved moss is easy.
Our moss designs are maintenance-free. These formerly living plants are preserved with organic compounds that protect the feel, texture, look and color of moss and plants. A natural solution replaces the water content in the plant, preventing decay. In some cases, a non-toxic dye is used to imitate the vibrant color of the moss.
Because they are preserved, these designs do not require any upkeep. There’s no need for irrigation infrastructure or grow lamps—your artwork can hang wherever you need it.
You may want to dust your piece occasionally—we recommend using compressed air, like you would for your computer. Otherwise, you can simply enjoy the beauty each design brings to your space!
Your moss wall art can also display your logo or other company messaging. Moss logos are popular ways for organizations to create interest in a lobby or reception area.
Many commercial spaces, restaurants, and offices use moss artwork to bring the calming elements of agricultural design indoors.
Moss walls do not require the same care as living walls. Moss is preserved, so they don’t require watering or plumbing. Moss does not attract insects and can be used in more diverse spaces than living walls, since they don’t require light (or grow lamps!).
Most people with environmental allergies do not have adverse reactions to moss. Preserved moss is no longer alive, so it does not release pollen at all. Because of this, it can be ideal for those with allergies.
Whether you choose a preserved moss design or a living wall will depend on the look you’re going for and the care you’re willing to give your botanical installation. We offer both, and would love to discuss your specific needs.
